- That is what one of my daughters wants to do. What University do you recomend? We live in Virginia and prefer a State school. I am sure you know - since you have been in the field for 40 years and probably help interview new hires. Would love some advice!

- As soon as my kids finish their BS or BA I am going to tell them to apply to Grad school and look for a job. Fortunately there are a ton of Universities where I live. They can stay with us while pursuing their Masters.

- This makes me feel so sad. I know a lot of adults that do contribute to where they ended up by the choices they made in their lives. However, in this economy many people who did everything rights and work very hard are being effected.

- Nope. You could not support a family of 5 in Northern Virginia off of 50K. If I was single and no kids it would be the right amount. If our income was slashed to us we would get by on savings. However if we did not have the savings we would be forclosed on and homeless.

- I think it would interesting to compare these kids to the kids that attend the top Sience and Technology High Schools in the Country. Lets compare apples to apples. All these kids come from weathy households with highly educated parents.

- I think my kids are getting a happy medium. They have computer lab and are expected to make power point presentations. I feel kids need some exposure to computers. I know my daughters had to use them in their First Lego League and learned a lot of programing.

- Actually Bush Jr. had a higher GPA than Senator Kerry did. George is a very smart man that is suffering from late term Lyme.

Does $50,000 a year seem like plenty to live on, or not nearly enough? If you said somewhere in between, that makes sense because $49,445 is the national household median income, meaning about half of all households live on more than that and half on less.
